SSC CGL Tier-I exam is a objective test which will be held online, The exam consists of four sections carrying 100 questions (25 questions in each section) carrying a total of 200 marks (maximum 50 marks in each section). The time duration of Tier-1 exam will be 60 minutes.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: It will include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component includes questions on similarities, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relational concepts, arithmetic reasoning and figurative classification, arithmetical number series, non can be. general awareness: The questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application in society. The questions will also be designed to test knowledge of contemporary events and such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions related to India and its neighboring countries, especially questions related to sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian constitution, scientific research etc. These questions will be such that they will not require special study of any subject.
Quantitative Aptitude (Maths): The questions will be designed to test the candidate’s ability to number and make proper use of numbers. The scope of the test will be Calculation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and Relationship between Numbers. It includes a sense of order between numbers, the ability to translate from one name to another, a sense or order of magnitude, estimation or prediction of the result of a calculation, selection of an appropriate operation for solving real-life problems, and testing of knowledge. Will do Alternative calculation process to find the answer. The questions will also be based on arithmetic concepts and relationship between numbers and not on complex arithmetic calculations (the standard of questions will be of 10+2 level).
English language and comprehension: Reading Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Spellings, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution, Sentence Correction, Error Spotting, Synonyms, Antonyms. Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, their basic comprehension and writing ability etc. will be tested
