SSC MTS Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2023: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the new exam pattern and syllabus for SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam-2022. SSC MTS 2022 notification has been released on January 18, 2023. This year SSC has changed the exam pattern of MTS Recruitment. Now, there will be only one written test in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Descriptive paper has been removed from the selection process of MTS. SSC MTS 2023 Selection Process
The selection process for SSC MTS 2023 exam consists of Computer Based Test (CBT) in two sessions. Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted only for the posts of Havildar in CBIC and CBN. The SSC MTS selection process 2023 consists of the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT) in two sessions
- PET/PST (Only for Havildar in CBIC/CBN)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination (ME)
SSC MTS 2023 Exam Pattern
- Negative Marking: No negative marking in Session-I, and 1/3 negative marking in Session-II.
- Mode of Examination: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Note: Session-II examination will be evaluated only if a candidate qualifies the Session-I examination. Here are the qualifying marks for Session-I exam:
- UR: 30%
- OBC / EWS: 25%
- All other categories: 20%

Here is the subject wise syllabus for SSC MTS 2023 written exam:
Numerical & Mathematical Ability: It includes questions on problems related to Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM and HCF, Decimal and Fraction, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Work and Time, Direct and Inverse Proportion, Average, Simple Will be Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic Geometrical Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Simple Graphs and Interpretation of Data, Squares and Square Roots, etc.
Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving: The questions in this part are aimed at measuring the general learning ability of the candidates. The questions will be broadly based on Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Follow Direction, Similarities and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Diagram Based Nonverbal Reasoning, Age Calculation, Calendar and Clock etc.
general awareness: The broad coverage of the exam will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art & Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental Studies up to class 10th.
English Language and Comprehension: Candidates understanding of Basics of English Language, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and Correct Usage etc. And to test understanding, a simple paragraph may be given and questions based on the paragraph asked.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is conducted for the candidates who qualify the written test.
The height requirement for CBIC/CBN Havildar is 157.5 cms for males and 152 cms for females. Male candidates should have minimum chest size of 76 cms with minimum expansion of 5 cms.
Male candidates will also have to complete a walking test of 1.6 kms in 15 minutes. While female candidates will have to walk one kilometer in 20 minutes.
