Educational qualification

constable (crew)

1. Matriculation from a recognized Board equivalent.
2. One year experience in operating boat below 265 HP.
3. Should be able to swim in deep water without any assistance.

head constable master

1. Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.
2. Serang Certificate.

head constable engine driver

1. Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.
2. Obtaining Second Class Engine Driver Certificate.

Head Constable Workshop

1. Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.
2. ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Diploma in Motor Mechanic (Diesel / Petrol Engine) for HC (Workshop) – Mechanic (Diesel / Petrol Engine) from a recognized Institute.
3. ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Diploma in Machinist for HC (Workshop) – Machinist from a recognized Institute.

SI master

10+2 Intermediate in Any Stream from Any Recognized Board in India.

Second Class Master’s Certificate issued by Central / State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.

SI Engine Driver

10+2 Intermediate in Any Stream from Any Recognized Board in India.

First Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by Central / State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department

Application fee

For Group B Post: Rs. 200/-

For Group C Post: Rs. 100/-

SC/ST (for both the posts): Rs.0/-

Age Range

For Sub Inspector Post SI (Master/Engine Drive):-

• Minimum Age – 22 Years
• Maximum Age – 28 Years

All other candidates:-

• Minimum age – 20 years
