Due to the spread of H3N2 virus, schools have been declared closed from 16 March to 26 March in most of the southern states of India. Let us tell you that in this matter Puducherry’s Education Minister Namasivam, while addressing the press conference on Wednesday, has made a big announcement to close all the schools in Puducherry. H3N2 flu is spreading very fast in the infected person for the last few months, keeping this in mind, the Union Territory Government has decided to keep all the schools in its state closed.
School closed: Schools are closed till March 26
According to the latest reports, it has been announced to keep the schools closed for the next 10 days in these states. Students and parents in these states are specifically advised to contact their nearest school for more information regarding school closures. In this matter, ANI also tweeted that, ‘In view of the very rapid spread of H3N2 virus, all schools in Puducherry will remain closed from 16 to 26 March.’
School closed: Recorded so far 79 cases
The spread of H3N2 virus is increasing rapidly in India in the last two to three months. Given the seriousness of the matter, 451 new cases of the virus have been reported in India for the first time since January 2, according to new data posted by the Union Health Ministry. For your information, let us tell you that the first death due to H3N2 influenza virus occurred in Hassan district of the southern state of Karnataka, an 82-year-old man died after coming in contact with this virus. According to the latest report, so far 7 people have died due to this virus. Puducherry in the south has the highest number of cases with around 79 cases of the virus reported till March 11.
