Ponniyin Selvan 2 had a great opening of 24 crores on Day 1, 26.2 crores on Day 2 and 30.2 crores on Day 3. 23.25 crores on the fourth day, 10 crores on the fifth day, 7.75 crores on the sixth day and 6.6 crores on the seventh day. After collecting around 5.5 crores on the eighth day, the film’s earnings went up to 4 crores and 3.53 crores on the eleventh and twelfth day respectively. Currently after 13 days it is around Rs 2.5 crore, indicating a steady decline in earnings.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 appears to have made less than its first part, which had minted 500 crores. In comparison, Part 2 is taking longer to reach its 200 crore target, as the film’s box office collections have been steadily declining over time. However, it is worth noting that Ponniyin Selvan 2 managed to collect over 160 crores within 13 days of its release, which is still a huge amount.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 boasts of a star-studded cast with veteran actors like Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Vikram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Karthi and Prakash Raj among others. The film revolves around the war of the Chola dynasty, and the first part was slated to release in 2022 and was well received by the audience. As per the reports, the actors of the film have been paid handsomely for their roles.
