It is important to note that so far the Government of India has not passed on the benefit of the fall in global crude oil prices to its citizens. Presently the global price of crude oil is around $75 per barrel and India is also buying oil from Russia at a cheaper rate. Despite these factors no reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel has been implemented in India.
